With SCSI488/S, up to 14 IEEE instruments can be controlled from theexternal SCSI port on workstations. SCSI488/S can be used in any testand measurement application that requires data acquisition from IEEEdevices. Applications include controlling digital oscilloscopes anddigital multimeters and retrieving data for graphics analysis software.SCSI has a high-speed data channel for transfer rates up to 1 MB persecond. Up to four SCSI488/S controllers can be attached to one SCSIport.SCSI488/S comes with Driver488/S, a UNIX device driver that usesmultitasking under SunOS release 4.0 and higher. Complete IEEElistener/talker/controller functions are implemented. The bus iscontrolled by easy-to-use, Hewlett-Packard-style IEEE commands. Programscan be written in any high-level language that controls UNIX systemservices.
